Former Gamma-Psi Chapter of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Oklahoma State University Leases Property
Stillwater, OK – The Gamma-Psi Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity at Oklahoma State University has been removed from campus and has had its charter withdrawn by the
international fraternity following an investigation into alleged alcohol and hazing violations. The Chapter will have the opportunity to apply for recolonization at a future date, which has yet to be determined by the Fraternity and University.
The chapter’s historic home, located at 1401 West University, Stillwater, OK 74074, is owned by Gamma-Zeta Corporation. The Gamma-Zeta local fraternity first affiliated with Kappa Sigma to become the Gamma-Psi Chapter on May 13, 1920, operating uninterrupted on the Oklahoma State University campus for more than 105 years.
While waiting to recolonize, Gamma-Zeta Corporation has entered into a lease agreement with PKPP Gamma Upsilon LLC for a property lease with a term of four years. This property lease agreement ensures the continued use and maintenance of the housing structure until such time as the Gamma-Psi Chapter is eligible to return to Oklahoma State University.
Gamma-Zeta Corporation remains committed to supporting the successful recolonization of the Gamma-Psi Chapter once sanctions from both the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and Oklahoma State University are lifted. Upon recolonization, the Gamma-Psi Chapter of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity will once again assume tenancy at 1401 West University.
Alumni of Kappa Sigma who wish to remain engaged during the Chapter’s absence are encouraged to visit www.1401Club.com for updates and opportunities to stay connected via social media networks.
